164th Birthtithi puja celebration of Swami Vivekananda

The 164th birthtithi puja celebration of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated here on 10.01.2026 as per our scheduled programme starting from 4.30 am with mangalarati. Prabhatferi (procession) carrying Swami Vivekananda's image on palki alongwith singers was arranged which moved around the village. Special puja, homa, devotional songs were performed. A talk on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was given by Swami Amalatmananda.

About 500 people took khichuri and curry prasad at noon.

Residential & Non Residential Bhakta-Sammelan

A Bhakta Sammelan was held on 30th December 2025, at the Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar (Residential 35 & Non residential 125). The speaker was Swami Stavapriyananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Ramharipur, Swami Amalatmananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar and Prof. Sabujkoli Sen, Kolkata. Devotional Songs performed by Swami Shivadhishananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission, Narendrapur.Around 160 devotees attended the Programme.

Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi's 173rd Birthday Tithi Puja Celebration 2025

The 173rd birthtithi puja celebration of Sri Maa Sarada Devi was celebrated here on 11.12.2025 as per our scheduled programme starting from 4.30 am with mangalarati. Prabhatferi (procession) carrying Holy Mother's image on palki along with a kirtan group was arranged which moved around the village. Special puja, homa, devotional songs were performed. A talk on the life and teachings of the Holy Mother was given by Piyasi Sen Bagchi,Kolkata.

About 500 people took khichuri prasad at noon.

28th Foundation Day of Somsar Ashrama on 4th December 2025

The 28th Foundation Day of this Ashrama was celebrated on 04.12.2025 at our centre with Mangalarati, Vedic Chanting, Special Puja of Sri Ramakrishna, Havan, and devotional songs. About 1200 villagers and devotees took part in the prabhatferi (procession) which moved with the images of Sri Sri Thakur, Sri Sri Maa and Swamiji along with a few kirtan groups around the somsar village as a part of the celebration.

3rd Year Anniversary programme of the take-over event of the Somsar Ashrama on 18.11.2024

The 3rd Year Anniversary programme of the take-over event of the Somsar Ashrama was celebrated on 18.11.2024 at our centre with Mangalarati, Vedic Chanting, Special Puja of Sri Ramakrishna, Havana, devotional songs and the discourse by Swami Amalatmananda.

About 500 people took khichuri prasad on that day.

Inauguration Ceremony of Swami Bhuteshananda Smarak Bhavan by Most Rev. President Maharaj on 13.11.2024

The brief report of the Revered President Maharaj's visit at Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar for the inauguration of kitchen Cum Dining Hall and Showroom.

The Programme was followed by NCC students, tribal dance and students of various schools with teachers and devotional songs by Kalyaneshananda.

Most Revered President Maharaj inaugurated the new Building(Kitchen Cum Dining Hall And Showroom) at about 10:45 a.m.on 13.11.24

Ninety Sadhus of our different Centres attended the inauguration ceremony.

The Celebration of Guru Purnima 2024 at Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar

The Guru Purnima was celebrated at our Ashrama Comprising the special Puja of Sri Ramakrishna, followed by Vedic Chanting, Devotional Songs, Homa, Discourse, Puspanjali on Sunday, the 21st July,2024. More than 700 devotees took Prasad and attended the celebration almost 1000 people. .

Distribution of Sarees And Garments : Somsar, October 2023

Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, distributed 245 sarees to the needy people of Somsar and Shyamdaspur on 19 and 20 October 2023.

Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, distributed 300 sarees and 50 lungis to the needy people of Somsar village in October 2023, as a part of distress relief services.

The 189th birthday tithi puja celebration of Bhagavan Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Deva

The 189th birthtithi puja celebration of Bhagavan Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Deva was celebrated here on 12.03.2024. Celebration started at 4.30 am with mangalarati and vedic chanting. Prabhatferi (procession) carrying Sri Sri Thakur's image on palki alongwith kirtan group was arranged which moved around the village. Special puja, homa, devotional songs were performed. A talk on the life and teachings of the Thakur Sri Ramakrishna Deva was given by Swami Amalatmananda. A Geeti-Alekhya on Sri Sri Thakur was performed by a group of artists from Alambazar, Kolkata.

About 800 people took khichuri prasad at noon.

Distribution of Sarees And Garments : Somsar, October 2023

Celebration of National Youth Day 2024 at Somsar Ramakrishna Mission.

Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar celebrated National Youth Day on 12 January 2023 with a procession carrying Swami Vivekananda’s photo. About 200 students from our village school participated. Swami Amalatmananda spoke about Swamiji’s teachings to them. SWADESH-MANTRA was recited on this occasion.

Inauguration of Ramakrishna Mission, Indas (a sub-centre of Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar)

The programme started at 9.00 a.m. with a procession prabhatferi carrying the tableaus of Sri Sri Thakur, Sri Sri Maa and Swamiji with the participation of local villagers and the devotees.

Sri Sri Thakur's special puja and homa was also performed.

In the pandal, from 10 a.m. till 4.00 p.m. a series of performances of Geetinatya by Amal Academy, Indas, Sri Ramakrishna songs by Smt Sarojini ghosh, and other singers, Santhal dance, and a Geetialekhya (Yagavatar sri Ramakrishna by Sri Ramakrishna Sangeetanjali, Belur) were presented before a large number of audiences.

At 4.00 p.m. Revered Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, the General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math opened formally the Ramakrishna Mission, Indas with an installation of a marble plaque at the janmabhita of Sri Gouri Pandit, a renowned tantric sadhak and a scholar of those days who proclaimed the Avatarhood of Sri Ramakrishna in a meeting of scholars convened in 1870 AD by Sri Mathuranath Biswas at the Dakshineswar temple.

A public meeting was held at the pandal from 4.30 p.m. Revered General Secretary Maharaj gave the main speech. Swami Amalatmananda gave the welcome address. Swami Shivapradananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Purulia also spoke on this occasion.

About 8000 people took khichuri prasad at noon.
